The Digital Guestbook is a family business born from personal loss.

Hundreds of friends and family members came to stand beside us, and we were deeply grateful for every one of them.

But when the service ended and life slowly resumed, we were left with something far less comforting: a paper guestbook full of incomplete information. Names we recognized but could not place. People we wanted to thank but could not reach.

The Digital Guestbook did not begin in a boardroom or a tech incubator. It began the way the most meaningful ideas do: in the middle of grief.

We knew we were not alone. Every family who has ever tried to send thank-you notes after a funeral has faced the same frustration. And every funeral director has fielded the same phone call: a grieving widow or a devoted son calling weeks later, asking for a list of attendees they can actually use.

That experience planted a seed. One conversation led to another, and an idea quietly took shape: what if technology could do what paper never could?

What we do.

The Digital Guestbook is a family-owned business built on a simple belief: that the traditions surrounding loss are worth preserving, and that the right technology can preserve them better than paper ever has.

We partner with funeral homes to replace the traditional paper guestbook with a seamless digital experience. Whether guests sign in on one of our commercial-grade touch screen kiosks or scan a QR code from their own smartphone, the result is the same: a complete, accurate, organized record of everyone who came to pay their respects.

No smudged ink. No missing last names. No unreadable addresses.

Just a clean, printable record, ready for the family the moment the service ends.

Why it matters.

The numbers behind the paper guestbook problem are striking. In large visitations, up to 48% of all visitors may be unable to attend in person, but they still want to pay their condolences and be counted. Long lines form at traditional guestbooks, creating frustration during an already difficult day. And when it is all over, families are left with a static physical book that serves no purpose beyond the service itself.

The Digital Guestbook changes all of that.

Remote sign-in means out-of-town loved ones are never left out. Multiple guests can sign in simultaneously, so visitation flow stays smooth and dignified. Attendee data can be exported as a PDF or Excel file for easy record keeping. Optional acknowledgment cards with pre-addressed envelopes take the burden of thank-you notes off grieving families.

We keep the best parts of the tradition. We modernize everything else.

Our commitment to the funeral industry.

We are not a technology company that stumbled into funeral service. We are a family that understands loss firsthand, and a team that has spent over a decade learning the specific rhythms, sensitivities, and needs of this profession.

That is why we are proud affiliates of the Funeral Directors Society of America Chicago chapter and the Order of the Golden Rule, two organizations whose values of service, integrity, and professionalism reflect everything we stand for. It is why our customer support team is known for being responsive, thorough, and genuinely invested in the success of every funeral home we serve. And it is why funeral directors who work with us describe us not just as a vendor, but as a valued partner.

We believe that embracing digital is not a departure from tradition. It is an act of care: for families, for funeral professionals, and for the meaningful rituals that help us say goodbye.

Let's modernize the funeral industry together.
